FAQ

What COVID-19 precautions are you taking?

In order to safeguard the health and well-being of our students, staff and community, OMF has instituted several COVID-19 precautions. Lessons are via Zoom. Band rehearsals and recording sessions occur in a 400 sf garage with the door fully raised. Two industrial fans circulate 7000 cubic feet of fresh air per minute. All students wear masks, nitrile gloves, chemical suits and stay 6 feet apart. All staff wear masks, nitrile gloves, chemical suits and stay 6 feet apart. The restroom is a portalet that remains outside. The restroom, instruments and all gear are sanitized after each use. Please follow this link for more info: http://dev.okmusicfoundation.org/omf-covid-19-precautions/

Where are you located?

OMF’s offices are located at 15 North Broadway St., Lebanon, OH 45036. However, we offer our programs throughout the Cincinnati, Ohio area by renting classrooms, performance halls, recording studios, camp grounds and other venues. If the budget permits, OMF will record in Chicago, Nashville, Louisville and Indianapolis.
We are in the process of raising funds for a dedicated facility.

Who is eligible for this program?

Any child in the world, age 18 or younger, can get involved. To register please use our online application which is located on the main menu.

How can I get my child involved?

At this point in time, the foundation is still raising funds in order to schedule more OMF programs. Meanwhile, you can submit an online application which is located on the main menu.

What are the audition video requirements?

When you apply to OMF you’ll be asked to provide a link to a YouTube video of you performing any song. You can also email videos of those performances. When songs become available you might be asked to send a video demonstrating that you can play the parts with a metronome (also called a “click track”). Here is an example of an audition video from 6 year old Fuzz, who auditioned for the OMF version of “Primal Concrete Sledge” by Pantera: https://drive.google.com/file/d/16XA_lxzO6Pq-nY6jWTFBhel4ng45NYJv/view?usp=sharing
These audition videos don’t have to professional filmed and recorded. You can just use your phone.

Are the OMF programs completely free for the kids?

Yes, all OMF programs are free.

If we live out of town, does OMF cover our transportation, food and lodging costs?

Unfortunately, OMF cannot cover the costs (food, gas, lodging) of a student traveling to our facility. But OMF is hard at work raising funds so we can provide financial aid to those students in need.

What kind of music do you record?

From jazz to classical, to metal and everything in between, OMF wants all students to appreciate and learn different genres of music.

Do you offer summer camps?

Yes, we offer 1 and 2 day long camps. Week long camps are also in the process of being scheduled.

Where can I download the OMF recordings?
